I have been writing fiction, nonfiction and poetry for about 25 years. I have had work published in a variety of print and online sources. I am a member of the Society of Authors (SoA), the British Science Fiction and Fantasy Association (BSFA) and the Science Fiction Poetry Association (SFPA). I am particularly interested in speculative and imagined futures, such as how different technologies or social movements might shape imagined communities. But mainly I treat writing as my experimental laboratory. Writing lets you control all the variables and play around with how minor permutations can shape a different story, or idea. I am particularly drawn to creativity theory and the processes we use in worldbuilding and speculation.

I was recently lucky enough to be awarded a Writer-in-Residence opportunity through the National Centre of Writing in the UK and UNESCO Cities of Literature program. This funding has largely been granted to help form links across different Cities of Literature, and will allow me the time and freedom to work on my debut science fantasy novel.
